Gay man’s brilliant response to being featured on anti-gay billboard
By Josh Haggis
A man whose image was used on an anti-gay billboard without his permission has come up with the perfect response.
The advertisement was paid for by US religious group Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays’, who argue that “nobody is born gay,” and say that it is possible to change which gender gay people are attracted to. Find out more here.
The billboard featured openly gay model Kyle Roux, who was quick to deny any involvement with the advertisement when the news first broke back in December.
Now, Roux – in partnership with nonprofit organisation Planting Peace – has erected a new billboard just a few metres from where the original anti-gay advertisement stood.
Check it out below:
“While we are seeing so much progress with LGBT issues like marriage equality, we still have a lot of work ahead,” the President of Planting Peace told Huffington Post. “It’s important that young LGBT kids know there are people who support them and accept them unconditionally for who they are.”
