Gay dating app Chappy to fully close down on February 28

Gay dating app Chappy has revealed it will be closing on February 28 and will join up with Bumble.
From today (February 17), any hopeful romantics looking for Mister Right will have a shock to their system when they log in to the gay dating app as there won’t be ‘anyone when you go to swipe’.
This comes after the app revealed it is closing down and joining the fellow dating site Bumble.
On the website, it says: “It’s been an incredible three years and we couldn’t be more grateful for the hundreds of thousands of you that have joined us on our mission to create a space for gay connection. While it’s the end of the road for Chappy, all is not lost!
“We’re joining Bumble because we have the opportunity to take what we’ve built together here to the next level by creating a space for healthy and safe connections across the LGBTQ+ spectrum.
“Bumble is committed to fighting all kinds of inequality, and we’re excited to land our spaceship safely in the Bumble Hive.”
Any matches made on Chappy will not be carried over to Bumble and will disappear on February 28.
As the two apps join together, Chappy users will receive a week free of Bumble’s premium subscription when you register.
Back in 2018, Ollie Locke and Jack Rogers both stepped down as co-founders of the gay dating app.
Locke and Rogers were with the company for just 18 months and Max Cheremkhin remained as an active co-founder.
