Gaga fans start petition to stop Madonna and Mariah ‘exploiting’ the gay community

By Fabio Crispim

Lady Gaga fans, better known as Little Monsters to some, certainly aren’t renowned for their shyness, and now some are coming together to start a petition to stop Madonna and Mariah Carey from “exploiting” the gay community.

Yep. You heard that right.

The petition on Change.org was started by Gaga fan Joseph Sotelo and – brace yourselves – states: “Madonna and Mariah Carey, who are straight, have been exploiting the gay community for years (especially Madonna).

“Neither have done anything concrete for our community like Lady Gaga has. Mariah Carey recently received a GLAAD award for no reason whatsoever, while Lady Gaga has set up her Born This Way Foundation, which aims to help millions of LGBT youth.

“Madonna and Mariah Carey must donate a portion of their money earned (at least 10%) to the Born This Way Foundation.”

The petition has been addressed to Lady Gaga, Ellen DeGeneres (for some reason) and Barack Obama himself.

Since the petitions creation two weeks ago, it has amassed the grand total of 87 supporters – but the comments speak for themselves…

Frankly, we’d love to know what Madonna and Carey would make of this.

Meanwhile, longtime Gaga collaborator RedOne, who produced some of the statr’s biggest hits, including ‘Bad Romance’ and ‘Poker Face’, recently teased more about his work with Gaga on her upcoming fifth studio album.

The producer revealed last month that he had indeed worked on 8 songs with Gaga last year for her upcoming album and one of those songs was set to be the first single, but it was quickly cancelled this year, leaving RedOne clueless on the album’s progression.
