Ex-Coronation Street star Oliver Mellor ‘disgusted’ over nude photo leak
The actor has spoken out after intimate pictures were secretly taken at a gym in Manchester.
Former Coronation Street star Oliver Mellor has spoken out after nude images of him were leaked after a visit to the gym.
The 37-year-old actor, who played Dr Matt Carter in the ITV soap for three years until 2013, was reportedly photographed in secret while undressed in a gym changing room, before the pictures were leaked to a WhatsApp group.
According to reports, Mellor’s fiancée, glamour model Rhian Sugden, told him about the pictures after a friend informed her of their existence.
Mellor told The Sun that he was “disgusted” by the news.
“It’s a total invasion of privacy. Hopefully the police make an arrest”, he said.
“It’s very unnerving to think that I can’t have a shower or get changed without some creep taking secret pics of me when I am naked.”
The former Midsummer Murders star continued: “I reported the matter to the gym and police – so hopefully they can investigate and make an arrest.”
The images were reportedly taken at a Pure Gym in Manchester and a suspect was later identified when CCTV footage was reviewed by staff.
A Pure Gym spokesperson said: “Our membership rules forbid members from taking photographs/videos on Pure Gym premises or from posting remarks to the internet that may identify another member.
“We take this issue very seriously and have given Mr Mellor our full support. We will fully co-operate with any police investigation and any member found to have taken photos of this nature will be banned from all of our gyms.”
