Donald Trump claims he has ‘lots of support’ from the LGBT+ community

By Joshua Haigh

Donald Trump has claimed that the LGBT+ community is here for him. The former reality star has suggested that he’s still supported by the majority of people in our community, despite his abhorrent actions in recent weeks. Earlier this month, Trump announced a ban on transgender members of the US armed forces.Taking to Twitter, the president wrote: “After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military. Despite the global outcry toward the decision, Trump is plowing ahead and is determined to follow through on his words. However, once again lacking any self-awareness whatsoever, Trump has claimed that his actions haven’t had a negative impact on his already minute gay following. “As you know, it’s been a very complicated issue for the military,” he told reporters yesterday. “It’s been a very confusing issue for the military, and I think I’m doing the military a great favour.” He continued: “I have great respect for the community. I think I’ve had great support, or I’ve had great support from that community. “I got a lot of votes. But the transgender, the military’s working on it now,” added the president.
