Dale Winton died of natural causes not suicide, says his agent.
The openly gay TV presenter – who is best known for the quiz show Supermarket Sweep – died in his home back in April, his long-term agent Jan Kennedy revealed.
A statement was issued by Jan which read: “It is with great sadness that we can confirm the passing of Dale Winton who died at home earlier today.
“While we know many will share this terrible loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this time of grief.”
Following his death, many suspected he took his own life, however, talking to the Press Association, Kennedy revealed the coroner ruled his death a “natural causes”.
Jan said: “The coroner investigating the death of Dale Winton has found death by natural causes.”
Renowned for his quick wit and infectiously upbeat presenting style, Dale has been one of the most prominent LGBT faces on British TV over the last 15 years.
The TV presenter came out in his 2002 autobiography and said in an interview in 2008 why he never came out earlier was because no one had ever asked him about his sexual orientation before.
Dale was also known for presenting Family Fortunes and In It To Win It as well as most recently Channel 5’s Dale Winton’s Florida Fly Drive.
