Brian Sims posts homophobic letters he received to reinforce why Pride matters

Brian Sims has posted homophobic letters he received on his Facebook account to reinforce why Pride matters.
The openly gay Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives made news after saluted Vice President Mike Pence with the middle finger, and now in a recent post on social media, the politician revealed he has been subjected to a number of homophobic letters.
One of the disgusting letters reads: “To the dick sucking f****t Brian Sims.
“I guess you keep the beard on your face so your f****t partners will feel like they are fucking a vagina when they bang your face.
“Maybe someone will knock your teeth out soon so it will feel better for your partners.
“Fuck you! You suck dick that has been in your ass or someone else’s ass.
“You weak minded no moral piece of shit. You are a perfect rep for that shit hole city in a shit hole state full of thugs.
“You will rot in hell maybe sooner rather than later. Fuck you asshole”
Another letter, which is possibly written by the same person, goes on to wish more “Pulse nightclub incidents”, referring to the attack at the gay nightclub which saw 49 people shot dead.
It reads: “We need more Pulse Nightclubs incidents. I guess “Chestnut” street is appropriate for you.”
Sims posted the letters onto Facebook to show how proud he is to be a member of the LGBT+ community.
He wrote: “DEAR BIGOTS: When my Office gets letters like this, I’m reminded of today’s Marriage Equality anniversary and of last night’s Democratic National Committee #LGBTQ Gala.
“My PRIDE in being a member of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities is so much greater than any nastiness or aggression you’ll ever send my way because of it. This is a battle you can’t win.
“My communities are stronger than you, more resilient than you, and have more reasons than ever before to FIGHT for our country! #YouAlreadyLost
“* Facebook please leave this up as a reminder of what Pride looks like for far too many people.”
