Professional boxer James Hawley has sparked outrage after describing gay men and trans people as “dirty c**ts” in a vile homophobic and transphobic video.

The 21-year-old British middleweight boxer shared the expletive-filled footage to his TikTok account, which has since been deleted.

In the video, Hawley was asked ‘Do you support LGBT [people]’. In response, the boxer said that while he was happy for two women to kiss in front of him, something was “seriously wrong” with “[gay] boys and transgenders [sic]”.

“What on earth makes you want to change your gender or get f****d in the a***”, he said.

“What is up with you dirty c**ts. I feel sorry for your families.”

After the appalling footage was circulated online on Wednesday (23 July) – including by RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Baga Chipz, Hawley’s management company issued a statement confirming that they had fired the athlete.

In a statement, MTK Global condemned Hawley’s comments, saying: “The management team have made the decision to terminate Mr Hawley’s contract with MTK Global with immediate effect and will no longer be representing him in any format.

“The boxing community is about respect and unity and MTK Global prides itself on its community focus and inclusive ethos. It has always been our mission to make boxing accessible to all, embracing individuality and being a safe space where community can express themselves and support one another.

“MTK Global does not in any way condone, or support the views that were shared in any way, nor will these comments ever be considered as acceptable from any of our fighters hence the decision that was made by management.”
