Bomb threat at Irish gay rights organisation

By Nick Bond

Emergency services have been called to the offices of Ireland’s Gay & Lesbian Equality Network (GLEN), after a member of staff this morning opened a letter addressed to the organisation which reportedly contained an unidentified blue powder along with a note reading ‘Goodbye’.

With the fire brigade, army and the bomb squad on the site, members of GLEN live-tweeted the incident, saying that they’ve remained inside the building and have “no reason to believe they’re in any way unsafe.”

The unidentified powder is currently being tested by the bomb disposal unit.

Further updates as they come to hand.
