Bernie Sanders gets a ‘yaaaaas’ as he visits West Hollywood gay bar
Bernie Sanders reconfirmed his gay credentials after paying a visit to California gay bar and restaurant Hamburger Mary’s over the weekend.
The Democrat US presidential hopeful and long-time gay rights supporter visited the bar two days before the upcoming California primary, taking the time to shake hands and pose for photos with the surprised patrons before giving a short speech inside. Buzzfeed reports.

“We need change,” Saunders said as the crowd cheered. “We need a government which represents all of us, not just the one person.”
During his visit, the Senator to Vermont – who publicly voiced his support for civil unions in his home state as far back as 2000 – even got an obligatory “yaaaaaaas” from an audience member.
RuPaul’s Drag Race star Jasmine Masters joked that she “almost broke a nail” when she was told Saunders was in the bar.
