‘Banana’s Dino on first onscreen threesome: ‘I was in nothing but a cock-sock’

By Will Stroude

There’s just 10 days to go until the premiere of Russell T Davies’ new dramas Cucumber and Banana on Channel 4 and E4, we’re finding out more about what we can expect from the cast themselves.

In the new issue of Attitude, we speak to Banana’s Dino Fetscher about his breakout role as the predatory Aiden, and he reveals just what it was like having to film a threesome scene for the sexually-charged series.

“I was so nervous about it on so many different levels!” he says. “Our director Luke [Snellin] and producer Emily [Feller] were absolutely brilliant and made sure we all felt as comfortable as it was possible to feel with nothing but a flesh-coloured cock sock on!”

He continues: ” We had a closed set with only the necessary people being in the room. It was very mechanical in the sense that every shot was carefully choreographed and directed, with hilarious directions from Luke being called out, like ‘Okay, and if you could climax now please Dino.’

“In real life it wasn’t sexy at all! It was such an experience. I can’t wait to see it all back.”

As well as Dino, cast members Freddie Fox, Vincent Franklin, Cyril Niri, Jim Murray, Andrew Hayden-Smith, and Fisayo Akinade all appear on the cover of the Travel Issue, and inside tease what we can expect from characters such as young heartbreaker Freddie Baxter, who’s apparently been “hard-wired to f**k” – click here to find out more.

The new issue also includes interviews with Imitation Game star and Oscar front-runner Benedict Cumberbatch and legendary British actress Amanda Barrie, as well as hot new shoots with Shayne Ward and Thom Evans.
