Attitude Media Ltd is delighted to announce that Cliff Joannou (pictured) will be the new deputy editor of Attitude Magazine.

Cliff Joannou is joining the award-winning editorial team in London from gay scene magazine QX, where he has been the editor for over 12 years. During that time Cliff has developed QX from a small underground scene magazine to the multi platform brand and definitive guide to the world’s most diverse gay scene that it is today. Cliff is also well known in the gay community for his campaigning work. During his time at QX he organised numerous fundraisers for LGBT charities, and staged a rally with Peter Tatchell that highlighted the plight of LGBT Russians that directly resulted in David Cameron raising the issue with President Putin at the G20. He also devised the #SameSexSRE campaign that highlighted the importance of statutory age-appropriate sex & relationship education in schools, which culminated in responses from the main political party leaders.

Cliff will start the role of Deputy Editor in early May working with Attitude’s Editor and Editorial Director, Matthew Todd across the main magazine brand as it prepares to celebrate its 21st birthday.

“We are delighted to welcome Cliff to the Attitude team. He is a well known and popular face on the London gay scene and has been pivotal in bringing some of the most important issues currently facing the gay community to the fore,” said Attitude Media Ltd’s Managing Director, Mike Buckley.

Cliff Joannou said, “I’m incredibly excited to be joining the team and to be part of such an internationally recognised brand. Attitude has broken new ground in so many ways, from highlighting the big issues affecting gay men’s lives to profiling some of the most important LGBT voices in the world.”
