Artist re-imagines iconic Disney characters as gay people
By Josh Haggis

An artist has turned iconic Disney characters into LGBT people for a new exhibition.
The artist, Jose Rodolfo Loaiza, has taken some of Disney’s most recognisable characters, such as Aladdin and Ursula, and turned them into gay men, women and couples. His work is currently on display at an exhibit titled ‘Profanity Pop’ in Los Angeles, where it can be seen until the end of August.
The exhibition doesn’t just feature Disney characters reimagined as LGBT people, though. The artist has also portrayed Mouse House favourites using drugs, posing for explicit selfies and even taking a pregnancy test.
Check out a selection of his artwork below – including his visualisation of what gay social app Grindr might look like in the Disney universe.
