Aaron Carter claims his coming out as bisexual was ‘misconstrued’

The 30-year-old singer insists he wants to settle down with a woman.

Aaron Carter has said his coming out as bisexual last summer was “misconstrued” by the media.

The former singer has sent mixed messages about his sexuality since seemingly coming out in an emotional tweet last August in which he detailed a romantic relationship he has with another man at the age of 17.

Shortly after, however, he told TMZ that he was only going to pursue relationships with women

And now, in an interview with Hollywood Life, Carter has denied being bisexual and claims his coming out was “a little misconstrued”.

When asked if he ever had a relationship with a man or if he’d be open to it, Carter said: “Yeah, no. It was more so just a story that happened when I was like 17 with somebody, and I can find men and women attractive, but when it comes down to it, I think it was a little misconstrued.”

He added: “I see myself being with a woman and having kids. I want to have a family.”

The ‘I Want Candy’ singer insisted he had always wanted to be a with a woman, saying: “I keep telling people that. I don’t want it to be misconstrued too much just because I was open about a story.”

The comments come after Carter claimed last December that he was finally embracing his bisexuality and was ready to start dating men.
