An outspoken ally of the queer community, she’s a singer, a sister, and the host of I Kissed a Boy and I Kissed a Girl – Dannii Minogue is this year’s Ally Award winner at the 2025 Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, powered by Jaguar.
Our freshest cover star was introduced by trailblazing footballer Josh Cavallo, who this year made his move to the UK, playing for Peterborough Sports alongside his fiancé Leighton Morrell.
Cavallo set the tone for the first award of the night: “The Ally Award recognises the people who stand up for our community when it isn’t fashionable – and when it might even cost them something.”

Cast members in attendance, including Lars Fellows, cheered from the crowd of seated stars.
Cavallo concluded: “She’s our ultimate ally – and a true Aussie legend. Please welcome, Dannii Minogue!”

Dressed in a princess inspired purple gown Minogue took to the stage to collect the Ally Award at the evenings ceremony.

Reminiscing on her performing career at LGBTQ+ events: “I’ve been able to celebrate at great parties, whether it’s Gay Pride, Mardi Gras, or Hoopla, and it’s been great to meet even more people tonight, so thanks for coming up and saying hi.”
She described the atmosphere in the room: “I feel like the words that come into my mind that I see clearly are safe, seen and celebrated.”

She wrapped up her Ally Award speech, announcing: “I always feel like the ones who are willing to shine bright are strong, and those who are strong will never work to diminish the light of others. So keep that up.”
Leaving the stage with her award, co-hosts of the Attitude Awards’ 14th anniversary, Mika and Jamie Laing could not quite believe who they’d just had on stage. Mika quipped: “A Minogue sister for me and a footballer for Jamie – equal opportunities right there.”
