Sydney Mardi Gras once again proved to be one of the most diverse celebrations – Pictures

The annual festival ran from February 16 to March 2 and looked amazing

Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras once again proved to be one of the biggest and most diverse this year.

Marking its 40th year, the festival – which ran from February 16 to March 2 – was jam packed with local and international queer performances, dance parties, theatre, music, workshops, exhibitions and more than 100 community events and the pictures prove it was fantastic.

Some of the highlights include the circus cabaret Club Briefs, the Doggywood dog pageant and the Sports Village where Team Sydney took over with games including volleyball, tug of war and a Speedos fashion parade.

This year was themed ‘Fearless’ and was a poignant reminder that LGBTQ people around the world need to express who they are while honouring those past advocates, activists and allies who defended the community.
