Meet Mena Massoud, the actor playing Aladdin in the live-action remake

By Ross Semple

Mena Massoud is your new Aladdin.

The Egyptian-Canadian actor won the title role in the upcoming live-action remake of the Disney classic, to be directed by Guy Ritchie. Other actors Riz Ahmed and Dev Patel were considered before Massoud earned the role.

Other confirmed roles are Naomi Scott as Jasmine and Will Smith as the Genie.

Judging by the look of Mena’s Instagram pictures, we’re certainly looking forward to seeing him portray everyone’s favourite street rat/pretend prince when the film hits screens.
