Jake Shears, Nadine Coyle, Beth Ditto and Rudimental are lined up to perform at Birmingham Pride this year.

The UK’s biggest two-day gay festival will kick off on May 26 with a Carnival Parade through the city centre.

The parade – which sets off from Victoria Square at 12pm – is taking the theme of Be You with more than 100 organisations taking part.

Birmingham’s Pride Festival takes place in the city’s vibrant gay village and will see the former Scissor Sisters star – among others including Gorgon City, Stefflon Don, Howard Jones and Louise – headlining the HSBC UK Main Stage.

Pride Festival Director Lawrence Barton said: “The entire Birmingham Pride team are absolutely buzzing about this year’s festival.

“It’s incredible to have achieved record ticket sales for an event that’s set to attract tens of thousands of people.

“We’ve got a fantastic diverse line-up this year so we’re certain it’s going to be an amazing weekend!”

The festival, which takes place on both Saturday May 26 and 27, last year attracted more than 50,000 party-loving revellers, also features a dance arena, cabaret marquee, funfair and women’s area, stalls,  in addition to a new Street Food court.

Tickets for the two-day festival, which is located in Birmingham’s Gay Village in the Southside area of the city, are available online at www.birminghampride.com
