Sam Smith gives intimate performance of ‘Constant Companion’ – WATCH HERE

Sam Smith has delivered a stunning live performance of ‘Constant Companion’ as part of Apple Music’s intimate Music Room series.

‘Constant Companion’ is one of the 12 tracks from Smith’s fifth studio album, Hazel Eyes, which was released on 21 August 2026 through Capitol Records.

Accompanied by a live band, the English singer is the latest star to grace the Apple Music series, following the likes of Lola Young and James Blake.

Smith’s latest album shows them in a different light following the club-focused sound of their 2023 album Gloria.

Hazel Eyes has a much softer sound. Announcing the release of the album on social media, Smith said: “I don’t think I’ve ever been as proud of myself or an album.”

“Sometimes to grow we have to listen to ourselves and only ourselves. I feel more in tune with my artistry and self than ever before with the release of this record,” they added.

Hazel Eyes is about “true love”

Above all, Hazel Eyes explores the theme of love – “True love”, Smith said. “I am so overjoyed to capture my emotions in a bottle like this. This album will always mark one of the most magical, confronting, happiest and challenging times of my life as a person and an artist.”

Accompanying the release of ‘Constant Companion’, Smith released a music video inspired by Western films, featuring homoerotic elements.

Attitude reviewed the album, rating it 4 out of 5 stars highlighting the “vulnerability that comes with it, and the slightly terrifying realisation that you now have something worth losing.”
