Mitch Brown stars in homoerotic Austalian football music video by ANDY
Through spit, sweat and plenty of skin, ANDY’s new music video reclaims the changing-room narrative

Mitch Brown, the AFL’s first publicly bisexual star, has appeared in a new homoerotic music video for rising pop artist ANDY.
The former footballer stars alongside NRL trailblazer Ian Roberts in Can’t Wait, a provocative visual that reclaims the heteronormative facade of the sport and transforms it into a space of queer sex.
ANDY says the project is rooted in his upbringing in Manly, Sydney, and the hyper-masculine, Catholic, all-boys rugby culture he experienced growing up.

He described the environment as one where “the line between homophobia and homoeroticism was invisible”, leaving him caught between “fantasy and fear”.
“Wrestling, wedgies, sharing showers, headlocks, girth checks, sack whacks, gay chicken” were just some of the changing-room activities he had to become accustomed to.
The steamy queer football video accompanies ANDY’s latest single, ‘Can’t Wait’, which he says was written during his own sexual liberation. The artist incorporated his own gay sex tapes with football victory chants and celebrations to create the track.

He questions what sporting environments might look like if young people had the “safety or the space to explore our sexuality or desires”.
ANDY, intentionally, edges the viewer, “we give them what they expect and know of sports, and slowly turn up the heat on the innate innuendo until it explodes into a world that doesn’t exist.”
Why create the music video? “When queer people are pushed out of spaces and our voices silenced, it’s our job as artists to protest by creating art so loud that we become undeniably visible,” said ANDY.

The visual is directed by Harry Welsh, who gave Roberts and Brown their flowers admitting they gave the project “the gravitas it deserved”.
Welsh’s central creative idea was that “footy is already wonderfully queer, we were just capturing it with a fresh, hungry lens”, finessed with spit, sweat and plenty of skin.
‘Can’t Wait’ leads the visuals for his nine-track EP/mini-album, &e, which is due to arrive in October 2026.
