MIKA has returned to music with a new single ‘Modern Times’, released today (31 October) as he prepares to drop a new album and embark on a major European arena tour.

The 2025 Attitude Awards co-host, alongside Jamie Laing, described the track as “a cathedral-like cry for faith and spirit, resisting the grind and weight of life and the passing of time.”

Produced by MIKA and Nick Littlemore, the single opens with five layered piano parts “like the turning cogs of a mechanical machine that beats the rhythm of a heartbeat,” according to a news release.

MIKA’s upcoming full-length studio album will mark his 7th release

Written entirely by MIKA, the single marks the beginning of a new chapter for the ‘Grace Kelly’ singer, leading to his upcoming full-length studio album – his seventh – following a string of acclaimed releases, including the award-winning Life in Cartoon Motion.

His last album, the French-language Que ta tête fleurisse toujours, debuted in the Top 5 in France and went Gold.

In February 2026, MIKA will embark on his largest-ever European tour, The Spinning Out Tour, performing at 15 arenas across the continent, including UK dates at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on 11 February and Manchester’s AO Arena on 12 February.

Recent achievements include winning the Nordoff & Robbins Global Impact Award (London, 2025), as well as hosting the 2025 Attitude Awards, celebrating stars including Russell Tovey, Dannii Minogue, and Tiara Skye.

“We’ve watched the UK slip further down the European equality rankings” – MIKA on LGBTQ+ rights in UK politics

MIKA, who is gay, spoke proudly at the 2025 awards about the pressing issues the LGBTQ+ community faces in the current political landscape.

He said: “This year, we’ve seen yet more delays on the government banning so-called conversion therapy. We’ve had court rulings that put trans rights under threat even further. And we’ve watched the UK slip further down the European equality rankings – being pushed back faster than a bad wig in a wind tunnel.”

The 42-year-old singer added: “Which is why solidarity, inside and outside the community, has never mattered more.”

MIKA’s European tour kicks off 6 February 2026 in Amiens, France

MIKA previously received his own Attitude Award in 2019, recognising a career that has since skyrocketed – with over 20 million albums sold worldwide.

Whilst information about his upcoming album has not yet been released, MIKA’s European tour is something to look forward to, kicking off 6 February 2026 in Amiens, France.

Tickets are available via the official MIKA website.

The anticipated album is slated for release in late 2025, making the tour dates a key launch period for his next era of music.

His new single, accompanied by an official music video, is available to stream now on all major platforms.
