Lady Gaga has dropped her brand new single ‘Dead Dance’ as her cameo in Wednesday series two, part two hits Netflix today.

Last month, the ‘Abracadabra’ singer made her highly anticipated debut in the mystery-comedy’s latest trailer, just days after part one broke records for the streamer.

Gaga’s role was originally announced by Netflix as Rosaline Rotwood, “a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday”.

“Get this on The Mayhem Ball setlist right now” – one fan on Lady Gaga’s new Wednesday single

Fans are already going wild for ‘Dead Dance’, flooding X with comments like: “Get this on The Mayhem Ball setlist right now!” and “Halloween smash hit secured!”

Before Gaga’s casting was confirmed, speculation about her role had already taken over the internet after producer and lead actress Jenna Ortega teased to Entertainment Tonight: “She’s not a teacher… so that’s your little clue. Whatever you heard, it’s wrong.”

This week, Netflix finally gave fans a first look at Gaga’s character. They shared an Instagram post, captioned: “A vision in venom. Here’s your first look at Lady Gaga as Rosaline Rotwood.”

While they confirmed her role in the much-loved series, fans had previously remained convinced she could be Wednesday’s deceased aunt, Ophelia, as she matched the character description.

The official music video for ‘Dead Dance’ is premiering today at 5pm BST

In the first half of season two, Wednesday lost her psychic powers. In part two, she turns to her grandmother, Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley), who reveals that Rosaline, like Wednesday, was a Raven.

Hester reveals that by touching Rosaline’s grave and reciting a spell, Wednesday can temporarily regain her psychic sight – and it’s at this moment that Lady Gaga makes her first appearance.

Principal Weems (Gwendoline Christie) also makes her return in part two, appearing as Wednesday’s new spirit guide.

Earlier this summer, co-creators Al Gough and Miles Millar, along with director and executive producer Tim Burton, confirmed that Wednesday has been renewed for a third series.

Lady Gaga’s ‘Dead Dance’ is now streaming on all platforms, with the official music video premiering today (3 September) at 5pm BST.
