The TV personality, Kim Wooburn, is facing a backlash for anti-trans remarks the made during a recent interview.

During a recent appearance on GB News the former How Clean is Your House presenter was asked about gender-neutral changing rooms. After GB News’ Mark Dolan suggests Kim represents “the silent majority” on this ‘issue’ he asks if she worries about being labelled “a transphobe or a bigot” for her views.

“Look, if I’m going to be labelled that then get on with it, I give not a jot,” Kim replies.

“If I don’t want to show a man, accidentally, my knockers, or my bottom half, dear, which could happen, then I’m being labelled? I don’t want to show my bare body to a strange man? What?”

Continuing she says, “Come on don’t talk utter rubbish, my love, a man’s a man, a woman’s a woman. And women who say that don’t mind sharing a dressing room with a man, they must be sexually frustrated and need to see something naughty.”

Finally, she says, “I don’t! I don’t, dear. I’ve got a husband who gives me all the needs I require. I don’t need to see men’s penises through their underpants.”

The response to these remarks was swift. One person says it’s rich for Kim to make these remarks given the support she’s had from the LGBTQ community. “I don’t want to see this woman booked at a single pride gig or queer space again,” they write. Kim has made frequent appearances at Pride events.

Kim’s turn has been described as “disappointing” by someone else while someone else blasts Kim saying, “Shame on you.” They add all Kim has done is demonstrate a lack of understanding of “the struggle that actual trans people face.”

Another suggests, “Kim Woodburn needs to return her gay icon card.” They add, “No room for transphobia, no excuses.”

While someone else questioned: “I really don’t get why so many of the gays find her so “iconic'”.
