Frankie Grande has committed a cardinal sin: Madonna gave him advice and he did not listen.

The brother of pop superstar Ariana Grande appeared on Tamron Hall’s talk show on Wednesday (September 21) where he recounted his experience with a polyamorous relationship which Madonna warned him against.

The 39-year-old TV personality married Hale Leon in a Star Wars-themed ceremony on May 4 this year but opened up that he’d been in a throuple.

Back in 2018, Frankie Grande announced he had joined a throuple; “These are my boyfriends,” Grande said at the time. “[We’ve been dating for] almost three months, but in the gay world, it’s like five years.”

“I was talking to Madonna of all people, talking to the queen, and I told her about the throuple,” Grande revealed to Hall. “She literally said, ‘Well, that’s not going to end well.’”

“She said that and I still did it,” he laughs.

Grande went on to explain that the pair he was in a relationship with was a married couple, and the experience allowed him access to the dynamics of a married couple and the evolution of such a relationship.

Through this polyamorous relationship, Frankie Grande says he realised that he wanted to be married in a monogamous relationship.

“I’m always the person that says yes to whatever comes into my life, and I’ve never been afraid to take risks or do something unconventional,” he said. “When this relationship presented itself to me I was like, you know what, why not? Let’s just try it, let’s go in. And it did not work.”
