Woman sings ‘WAP’ in the style of legendary divas from Dolly Parton to Britney Spears – WATCH

You won't be able to un-hear your fave pop girls taking on the filthiest song of the year.

By Will Stroude

2020 will be remembered for a lot of things, but one of them will surely be ‘WAP’, the filthy comeback single from Cardi B featuring Megan Thee Stallion which has, ahem, mopped up in the streaming stakes.

As the expletive-filled track spends another week atop the Official UK Singles Chart and continues to become a love-it or loathe it cultural phenomenom, one British writer and singer has imagined what the sordid lyrics would sound like in the hands of iconic performers.

The results are both incredible and, yes, slightly harrowing for fans of lovely, wholesome Julie Andrews.

Dolly Parton, Adele, Gwen Stefani, Ellie Goulding, Billi Eilish, Ellen Page, Shakira, Britney, Celine Dion, Julie Andrews, Christina Aguilera and even Harry Potter‘s Moaning Myrtle all get the impression treatment – and after hearing ‘Dolly’ utter the words “make his pull-out game weak”, your life will never be the same again (for better or worse).

The incredible impressions are delivered by Rachel Harper, an up and coming theatre writer whose first full length play, RATTLED, debuted in London last year.

Sharing the video on Twitter, she wrote: “One WAP. Twelve impressions. Happy Sunday.”

The side-splitting clip soon went viral, racking up more than 600,000 views by Monday afternoon.

In repsonse to the outpuring of support, Harper added in the comments: “Nothing to plug. I hope you’ve all had a tiny relief from the never ending doom of this year.

“Be kind to one another and do some nice shit for yourself and others.”

In a nod to the ongoing controversy surrounding Harry Potter author JK Rowling’s repeated remarks about transgender people, she added: “P.s Myrtle says Trans lives matter yeah”.
