Watch John Lithgow & Alfred Molina in ‘Love is Strange’ trailer

A new trailer for upcoming gay drama film Love is Strange has premiered online.

John Lithgow (Interstellar) and Alfred Molina (The Normal Heart) star as Ben and George, a New York couple who finally tie the knot after four decades together.

However, their relationship is suddenly put to the test when the wedding forces George to leave his job as a teacher, and the couple are forced to live apart with their friends and family.

The film – which opened to rave reviews when it was screened at Sundance and Berlin film festivals earlier this year, also stars Marisa Tomei (What Women Want), Charlie Tahan (Frankenweenie) and Cheyenne Jackson (Glee, 30 Rock).

Director Ira Sachs said: “Love is Strange is a multi-generational story that examines the different ways each of us experience love – and what we expect from it – at different points in our lives.”

The film will be released in the UK and Ireland on February 13. Watch the trailer below:
