Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt pushed back, Tina Fey to work on Mean Girls musical

By Fabio Crispim

There’s some good news, and there’s some bad news, and then there’s more good news!

Happily, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt‘s Ellie Kemper is expecting her first child, announcing the news on The Tonight Show last week (April 14).

However, sadly the third season the Netflix series has been pushed back to accommodate the pregnancy.

But there’s more good news! Because the show has been pushed back, Tina Fey has promised to use the extra time to work on the long-awaited Mean Girls Musical, DigitalSpy reports.

Speaking at the Tribeca Film Festival, Fey explained: “We’re working on the musical adaptation, and thanks to Ellie Kemper’s pregnancy, we have this whole summer to work on it.”

Fey will work on the musical alongside her composer husband, Jeff Richmond and lyricist Nell Benjamin.

Suffice to say, we cannot wait.
