Troye Sivan releases brooding new track ‘Take Yourself Home’
The Sivan-shaped hole in our heart is being filled nicely, thanks.

Troye Sivan has made an early return to releasing music with new single ‘Take Yourself Home’ – but anyone holding out for an uplifting ditty amid these dark times might need to readjust their expectation now.
“I’m tired of the city, scream if you’re with me / If I’m gonna die, let’s die somewhere pretty” the 24-year-old Australian star sings on the track’s brooding, incantation-like chorus.
“‘Take Yourself Home’ is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written,” says Troye, who penned the track with Leland, Tayla Parx and Oscar Görres (who also produces).
“The song is kind of a pep talk with yourself and the place you’re from. Grappling with your place in the world.
“I write these songs as a diary entry, then as life and places change and relationships change, songs can take on a new meaning entirely.
“Clearly that has happened for this song, with what is going on in the world right now.”
‘Take Yourself Home’ is the first new material we’ve heard from Troye since last year’s collaborations with Lauv (‘I’m So Tired’), Charli XCX (‘2099’) and Allie X (‘Love Me Wrong’).
While it’s unknown if the track will feature on the former Attitude cover star’s yet-to-be-announced third studio album, it’s certainly going to be helping plug the Sivan-shaped hole in our hearts until then.
