Troye Sivan announces new single ‘Take Yourself Home’

The queer pop star will release the track on 1 April, and we're hoping it's the stay-home anthem we all need right now

By Tim Heap

It’s been a hot minute since we heard new solo material from Australian pop star Troye Sivan, but he’s just taken to social media to announce that a new track is on its way.

Called ‘Take Yourself Home’, it’s set to be released next Wednesday, 1 April, and we’re just praying it’s not a cruel April Fool’s joke.

Whether intended or coincidental, the title taps into the current social distancing situation that many people are facing right now, but hopefully Troye’s smooth vocals can calm our anxious souls.

The 24-year-old has released two studio albums to date, his last one being in 2018’s Bloom. The album spawned a handful of singles including ‘My My My!’ which reached number one on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.

Since the album’s release, Troye has acted in gay conversion therapy drama Boy Erased (and provided an Oscar-shortlisted song for the soundtrack), and teamed up with Charli XCX for her song ‘1999’ and Lauv on ‘I’m So Tired…’, which became his first UK Top 10 single last year.

Troye was shot by photographer Damon Baker for the cover of Attitude’s June 2018 issue and opened up about coming to terms with his sexuality. Tide youself over until ‘Take Yourself Home’s release by checking out the highlights of his shoot here.
