Tom Daley discusses attention from gay fans

Tom Daley has discussed the attention he has received from his gay fans since he came out last year.

The Olympic diver made a low-key YouTube video last December in which he revealed he is in a relationship with a man.

In an interview with James Corden in today’s (March 21) issue The Sun, Daley was asked whether he has been hit on by male admirers since moving to London.

“Yeah, it does happen quite often,” he said. “You do get some people who just come up to you and offer it there and then. Like literally. Some people come up to me and say, ‘Do you want to go back?’ And I’m like, ‘What do you mean? The whole reason I did this was because I have a boyfriend.'”

Earlier in the interview, Daley explained his decision to be open about his relationship, saying: “I didn’t want to hide anymore.”

Meanwhile, Daley is to embark on a “whistle-stop backpacking trip” for a new ITV2 show called Tom Daley Goes Global, which is due to air next month.
