Today marks 10 years since Back to Black by Amy Winehouse was released

The classic album by the late Amy Winehouse was released on this day ten years ago.

The 12× platinum selling album by legend Amy Winehouse was released on the 27th October 2006.

The album features hit songs like “Rehab”, “Back to Black” and “Tears Dry on Their Own”.

The artist inspired artists like Adele, in an interview with I-d she told the magazine: “If it wasn’t for Amy, one hundred per cent I wouldn’t have picked up a guitar, I wouldn’t have written Daydreamer or Hometown and I wrote Someone Like You on the guitar too.”

The album was Amy’s second studio album and final studio album.

At the 5th Grammy Awards, the album won ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’. During the same awards ceremony, she won four other awards, this made her the second-most awarded female in a single ceremony along with five other artists.

Back to Black sold 3.58 million copies in the UK alone which made it the UK’s second best-selling album of the 21st century

Recently it was announce that a new YouTube channel will be starting up with celebrities performing covers of Amy’s songs to raise money for the foundation.
