‘Teen Wolf’ actor Charlie Carver joins James Franco’s gay film

actor Charlie Carver has been cast in upcoming gay-themed drama Michael.

The film follows the life of Michael Glatze, the co-founder of Young Gay America and a strong advocate for gay rights, who later denounced homosexuality and turned to religion after a health scare. He married a woman in 2013.

Carver will play a young man who becomes romantically involved with Glatze and his boyfriend – and then reacts badly when he discovers Glatze has renounced his homosexuality.

James Franco stars as Glatze in the drama, while Zachary Quinto has recently been cast as his boyfriendAmerican Horror Story actress Emma Roberts will also appear in the film as Glatze’s later, female love interest.

Carver currently plays gay werewolf Ethan on MTV’s hit drama Teen Wolf, alongside his twin brother, Max Carver. The brothers previously appeared together as Lynette’s twins on Desperate Housewives.
