Take a look at Liza Minnelli as a comic book character

By Josh Haggis

The inimitable Liza Minnelli has – finally – been turned into a comic book character.

The legendary performer’s life both on and off stage is immortalised in a new comic titled Female Force: Liza Minnelli, which was written by Michael L. Frizell and illustrated by Rafael Cordeiro.

Speaking to The Huffington Post about the comic book, Cordeiro said: “A biography is a challenge for any artist, because you have to delve into someone else’s life, interpret it and bring those memories back through graphical representations.

“This task is even more challenging when you’re speaking about a person as legendary as Liza Minnelli.”

The comic book is the latest in a series of releases from US company Bluewater Productions to be inspired by iconic divas, following issues featuring Madonna and Barbra Streisand.

Female Force: Liza Minnelli is available to buy now on iTunes.
