Sweden’s Eurovision entry has previously claimed that ‘gay sex isn’t natural’

Sweden has come under fire for choosing a singer who has previously made anti-gay remarks to represent them at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Måns Zelmerlöw, who will represent Sweden with his track Heroes at this year’s competition, was forced to release a public apology last year after he claimed that sex between two men “isn’t natural,” reports WiWiBloggs.
During an appearance on the Swedish equivalent of Channel 4’s Celebrity Come Dine With Me, the singer argued that it “isn’t equally natural for men to want to sleep with one another” and branded homosexuality an “abnormality”.
In a statement that followed the controversy surrounding his comments, Zelmerlöw claimed that he respects “all forms of love”.
“I want to apologise to all who take offense. I believe and hope that the vast majority know that I respect differences and all forms of love.”
Zelmerlöw will participate in the second Semi-Final of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, which takes place on May 21st in Vienna. His song, Heroes, is already being tipped as a possible winner – but could Zelmerlöw’s past comments come back to haunt him?
