Stephen Fry will present a musical gay wedding ceremony on Channel 4 later this month.
The channel will broadcast Our Gay Wedding: The Musical to coincide with the first same-sex weddings in the UK at the end of March.
The grooms, Nathan Taylor and Benjamin Till, are writing the music for their special day, which will feature sung vows and readings. Taylor is a star on the West End, while Till is a composer.
Fry will provide a commentary for the 60-minute programme, and other showbiz stars are expected to appear.
John Hay, commissioning editor for arts at Channel 4, said: “We are proud to be marking a huge milestone for gay rights – a cause that has long been close to Channel 4’s heart.
“I’m enormously grateful to Benjamin and Nathan for sharing their day with us, and for the talent, creativity and generosity they’re bringing to this amazing piece of work.”
The couple said that getting married in a musical felt like the “most natural thing in the world”.
