Spice Girls ‘planning Hyde Park anniversary concert’

By Fabio Crispim

Last week, we reported that Mel C and Victoria Beckham still have no apparent plans to join a potential Spice Girls reunion.

But that hasn’t seemed to stop the rest of the group from planning something to mark two decades since the band rose to global super-stardom.

According to The Sun, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner have are organising a mammoth Hyde Park concert next July to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the release of their debut single ‘Wannabe’.

“Mel B, Emma and Geri agreed Hyde Park would be the ultimate way to launch a reunion next July for their 21st anniversary,” a source told the paper.

A source said: “It gives them a year to plan everything and make sure their comeback is spectacular. It would be the most-talked about gig of the year.”

Hopefully Mel C and Posh change their minds within the next year, we can’t imagine the girl band performing as a trio – even if Posh’s mic was turned off during performances.
