Sir Ian McKellen has claimed that he is not interested in appearing in his own reality series.

The actor said that he wouldn’t want to become a “TV bore” by working as a presenter or taking on non-dramatic projects.

When asked by Entertainment Weekly whether he would consider working on a travel show with Stewart, he replied: “I’ve been asked recently to do a number of things which are not to do with acting, particularly on television – presenting and so on.

“That’s not what I really do best or what I want to do. I enjoy acting. I wouldn’t want to become a TV bore, who turns up everywhere on chat shows and quiz shows and documentaries and so on.

“No, I think I’ll stick to being an actor,” he concluded.

Last week, McKellen received an honorary degree from Cambridge University in recognition of his five-decade career as an actor and director.
