Sir Elton John has become the second ever solo artist to have a collection of Royal Mail stamps.

Following in the footsteps of the late David Bowie, the Royal Mail is celebrating Elton John’s 50thyear in showbiz with a collection of collectible stamps showing his time in the entertainment industry.

On the Royal Mail official website, they wrote: As Elton John embarks on the latest leg of his farewell tour we’re celebrating the Global Icon with a very Special Collection of unique Stamps and Collectibles.”

The openly gay singer – who is currently on his Farewell to the Yellow Brick Road tour – has just come off the success of the hit musical biopic Rocketman, starring former Attitude cover star Taron Egerton as the iconic singer.

Taking to Twitter, Elton wrote in regard to the stamps: “Announcing the #EltonJohn @RoyalMailstamps collection – celebrating 8 classic albums and 50 years of fantastic music.”
