Only Sir Elton John could host such a fabulous Zoom call with such icons as Lil Nas X, Dua Lipa, and Miley Cyrus to name but a few.

Olly Alexander, Stevie Wonder, Stevie Nicks, PNAU, and Charlie Puth were also among the attendees, all of whom contributed to Sir Elton’s latest album, The Lockdown Sessions, which went straight to Number 1 upon its release in October, according to the Official Charts.

Getting his collaborators together for “the ultimate zoom” uploaded to his Instagram account on Tuesday (21 December) Sir Elton took the opportunity to thank them all.

“I can’t believe everyone’s here!”

Giving the camera a cheeky shake, Miley Cyrus greeted the group with “Hello uncle Elton!” to which Sir Elton replies: “Miley, Dua, you look so lovely!

“I can’t believe everyone’s here!” he then exclaims before wondering “Why’s there a cat?” after Olly Alexander changes his on the screen. It turns out Sir Elton actually prefers Olly as a cat.

“If there’s anything that’s going to make a difference in the world connected with love, it’s music.” Stevie Wonder says as the gang celebrates Lockdown Sessions

“I can’t wait and I’m so happy to be involved, so thank you,” adds a now human again Olly Alexander.

Dua Lipa says it’s “such an honour to be on this song and singing one of my favourite Elton songs,” says Dua, a sentiment echoed by Stevie Nicks who adds, “it was just my pleasure to sing with you and I hope I did a good job on your song.”

“It’s so sick, I’m so excited” chimes Rina Sawayama.

Addressing the assembled stars Sir Elton wraps up the call saying, “I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your time and for working with me on this album. It’s really been a dream come true. Thank you!”

After everyone hangs up Ed Sheeran rushes in thinking the call was in person, not on Zoom.

In October, Sir Elton set a new Official UK Chart record by becoming the first artist to score a top 10 single in six different decades for his collab with Dua Lipa, ‘Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)’ which is featured on the album.

Two weeks later he was back at Number 1 with The Lockdown Sessions.
