The Essex pop star has opened up about her sexuality

Pop star Anne-Marie has revealed she’s attracted to women.

The Essex girl has been making a name for herself with her chart-hits ‘Alarm’, Ciao Adios’, and Clean Bandit collab ‘Rockabye’.

Her debut album Speak Your Mind was released this week and in a new interview with The Line of Best Fit, Marie reveals she’s never been attracted to “just men”.

She said: “I’ve never ever just been attracted to men. I’ve never just been attracted to women.

“I’ve never felt the need to tell anyone I’m bisexual. I don’t feel like I am. I just feel like I’m attracted to who I like. I honestly feel like everyone is like that.”

The 27-year-old singer also revealed that one of the songs from her new album pays tribute to and normalises differences. ‘Perfect’ addresses body image issues as well as mental health, vulnerability and even her own sexuality.

The lyrics read: “And I’ll love who I want to love, ’cause this love is gender-free.”

The news comes after singer Janelle Manáe came out as queer.
