Simon Cowell slams Natalia Kills: “She sounded mad”

By Ben Kelly

Simon Cowell has hit out at Natalia Kills and her husband Willie Moon, following their brutal criticism of an X Factor contestant in New Zealand last month.

Speaking to the Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine, The X Factor mogul said, “It was hateful. She sounded mad. It didn’t even make sense.”

“Where they cocked up was that they didn’t apologise straight away. If they’d both been genuinely sorry and called me, and apologised to the guy and his family, who knows what could have happened? They didn’t. They were quite defensive.”

The pair were sacked from The X Factor New Zealand, and faced international wrath on account of comments they gave to contestant Joe Irvine on a live show, which were deemed to be unnecessarily harsh. Kills accused him of copying her husband’s style, of having ‘no artistic integrity’ and claimed she was ’embarrassed’ to even be witnessing his performance. After days of media storm however, she did tweet seeming to ask for Irvine’s forgiveness.

Cowell’s fellow X Factor judge Louis Walsh has already spoken about the incident, saying, “She has no class, no taste. She’ll never work again.”

English born Kills released two albums in 2011 and 2013, but neither charted in the UK. She recently co-wrote Holy Water on Madonna’s Rebel Heart album.
