Rylan Clark-Neal has said “mistakes” led to his split from his husband Dan – adding that he is taking time out from work as he’s “in a bad place.”

Sending our best wishes, Rylan.

The TV presenter, who rose to fame as a contestant on The X Factor in 2011, confirmed the separation in a statement to The Sun. He and Dan – who have presented ITV show This Morning together in the past – tied the knot in November 2015.

“I am trying to take each day at a time”

Speaking to the outlet, the 32-year-old said: “Following reports about Dan and I spending time apart, I feel I have to speak out – as the way it is being reported is unfair.

“I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.”

The star added: “I have taken time away from work as I am not in a good place at the moment and am seeking help.

“I am trying to take each day at a time and would like to thank you to everyone for their support and for respecting our privacy at this time.”

Rylan has been absent from BBC Radio 2 hosting duties for the past seven weeks. He was also missing from presenting duties for the Eurovision Song Contest.
