After releasing one of the most slept-on queer records of the last few years in the form of 2018’s sensual, soulful, Boy in Jeans, US singer Ryan Beatty is looking set for a breakthrough year in 2020.

The Californian musician, who came out as gay publicly in 2016, dropped melancholy new single ‘Casino’ on Friday (17 January) after revealing that his second LP, Dreaming of David, is “coming soon”.

A reflective break-up track, ‘Casino’ sees 24-year-old Ryan declare “Love me to death or don’t give anything” as he adds a folk twist to the electronic sound he first began to hone on Boy in Jeans.

“‘Casino’ is an analyzation of my relationship with someone who was a powerful force in my life,” Ryan says.

‘Casino’ is the third single to be taken from Dreaming of David following the release of ‘Dark Circles’ and ‘Patchwork’ last year.
