RuPaul nominated for his first ever Emmy Award

By Will Stroude

Supermodel of the world, Glamazon, and now Emmy-nominee RuPaul has taken to Twitter to dedicate his nomination for Outstanding Host for Reality, Reality-Competition Program to “outsiders” who “make the world a more colorful [sic] place”.

The award nod come days after Ru shut down the haters following criticism that he wasn’t doing enough to support the Black Lives Matter movement.

The drag queen, whose reality show RuPaul’s Drag Race has become a cult classic within the LGBT community, finished its eighth season earlier this year, crowning Bob The Drag Queen as America’s next drag superstar. All Stars 2, which will see former contestants battle it out for the crown, is set to kick off on Logo TV on August 25.

RuPaul is up against American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest, Dancing With the Stars‘ Tom Bergeron, Hollywood Game Night’s Jane Lynch, Little Big Shots‘ Steve Harvey and Project Runway’s Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn.

May the best woman win!
