RuPaul: ‘Katie Price is a drag queen’

By Will Stroude

RuPaul says has described Katie Price as a “female drag queen”.

The drag icon has described the former glamour model as a “kindred spirit”, after the pair co-judged the competition to find ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Ambassador’ alongside Jonathan Ross last week (May 28).

“I feel like we’re kindred spirits – she’s a female drag queen. I love all female drag queens because they understand and get it,” the 54-year-old told The Sun.

Ru had previously said that Price – who competed on the last series of Celebrity Big Brother alongside Drag Race judge Michelle Visage – is not “ashamed” of being referred to as a drag queen.

He explained: “I love a woman who is not ashamed of being a drag queen. She’s very drag. Like our Pamela Anderson or even Latoya Jackson, and so many other women who aren’t afraid to just go big with it.”

Speaking about Jonathan Ross’ involvement in a UK version of the show, following the original’s launch on UK channel TruTV, he added: “He’s been trying to get it produced and has given it his blessing. I think Jonathan was turned on to it by his children and also because it’s good old fun.

“He and I were born on the exact same day, I’m sure he grew up with Monty Python too. I think he and I share the exact same influences.”

Attitude was in attendance at last week’s event, which saw Liverpudlian queen The Vivienne win the crown. You can check out all the videos, death-drops and behind-the-scenes goss here.
