Prison Break reboot trailer: Wentworth Miller’s Michael Scofield is alive

By Rhys Matthews

So, the good news is: Wentworth Miller’s Michael Scofield is alive. The bad news? He’s back in prison. But it seems like he’s not going to be there for long.

The first official trailer for the brand new season of FOX’s hit drama, which ran for four seasons between 2005-2009, begins with Scofield’s son asking his mother Sara Tancredi (Sara Wayne Callies) what his father was like.

“He was like a storm, appearing suddenly out of a clear blue sky,” she responds. “and then disappear, just as quickly.”

It’s clear his son hasn’t given up hope as he says: “But storms, they can come back, can’t they?”

Miller’s character was believed to be dead when the show’s original run endeds even years ago, but it seems like the protagonist has found a way of surviving, and has found himself back in prison for the series revival, this time in Morocco.

The trailer sees Michael Scofield’s brother on the trial of the jail bird when he gets a tip off that he might still be alive. When the pair come up with a plan to get Michael out of his Moroccan prison he can be seen telling his cellmates: “When those lights go black we’re going to disappear from this place like ghosts.”

Just two months ago, Miller opened up about his struggle with suicidal thoughts and depression after a fat-shaming meme including pictures of him appeared online.

In response to this images, the 43-year-old, who came out publicly as gay in 2013, revealed that “the voices in my head urged me down the path to self-destruction. Not the first time.”

However, it seems he’s not had much time to focus on all the negativity after working on the revival of the show that made his name. Check out the trailer for Prison Break season five below:
