Pride and Prejudice to be adapted into queer story set on Fire Island.

Jane Austen’s classic novel has been adapted for the big and small screen on multiple occasions and now Deadline report comedian and actor Joel Kim Booster is working on a new version following a same-sex romance.

Trip is in development for short-form streaming platform, Quibi, and follows two best friends who set out on a week-long summer vacation on Fire Island.

Booster tweeted: “For the last couple of years, I’ve been threatening to pitch a gay Pride and Prejudice adaptation that takes place entirely on Fire Island and I finally found a platform foolish enough to do it!

“This is my version of Sandler telling Netflix he has to film his next movie on the Amalfi Coast or some s**t.

“Only I’m making all my friends wear speedos on Long Island in April.”
