Piers Morgan slams Cher’s Billboard performance: ‘For god sake, put it away’

By Joshua Haigh

Piers Morgan just came for Cher and honestly we’re done with him.

The legendary icon took to the stage at last night’s Billboard Music Awards, where she performed a selection of her greatest hits before being honoured with an Icon Award.

The 71-year-old star looked incredible as she belted out Believe, but Piers Morgan – who claims to be a feminist – lashed out at her outfits while discussing the performance today on Good Morning Britain.

“At what point do Cher’s outfits become inappropriate? She’s 70,” said the professional troll.

“She’s a grandmother, it’s like for goodness sake put it away, grow old gracefully, put them away.”

He then added: “What happened to just being dignified in this country? Seriously.”

Piers has a long history of criticising women over their appearance. In the past he’s hit back at the likes of Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian, and earlier this year he even publicly offered to buy model Emily Ratajkowski some clothes.

Among her achievements, Cher has won an Oscar, an Emmy, a Grammy, and three Golden Globes. She has the remarkable distinction of having a Billboard charting single in each of the last six decades. Meanwhile, Piers has, erm…..

Earlier this month, the morning television presenter criticised Lady Gaga and accused her of using her mental health as a “an accessory”.
