Paul Rudd and Steve Coogan to star as married couple in upcoming comedy

By Troy Nankervis

Steve Coogan and Paul Rudd are set to play a married gay couple in a new comedy film An Ideal Home.

Written and directed by Andrew Fleming, the movie pairs the two actors as a bickering couple whose extravagant lifestyle is thrown into turmoil when Coogan’s character’s grandson arrives at their home, writes the Hollywood Reporter.

Currently entering pre-production, Fortitude International is selling the film to international buyers in Berlin at the European Film Market, running in conjunction with the Berlin International Film Festival.

“Comedy stalwarts Paul Rudd and Steve Coogan are reuniting on the big screen as a squabbling married couple in Andrew Fleming’s endearing and hilarious script about modern family, and we are delighted to present this charming film to buyers at EFM,” said Fortitude’s Nadine De Barros.

Coogan and Rudd previously appeared together on-screen back in 2011 for comedy drama Our Idiot Brother, which also starred Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer.
