Our boy Olly has had a cartoon makeover too.

Not content with simply serving bops from their second studio album Palo Santo, Years & Years have gifted us a dancefloor-ready track with DJ of the moment Jax Jones.

New single ‘Play’ sees Olly Alexander looking for love in the club as the Years & Years frontman promises to “dance til the night is through” over plucky electrionic beats,

The unlikely single artwork and visualiser video sees Olly transformed into a groovy animated character just weeks after the singer performed on The Voice of Poland in a rainbow tracksuit to protest the government’s treatment of the LGBT community.

Of course, if anyone from the Y&Y marketing and merch team is reading this, we’re gonna be needing an official Olly doll complete with customisable rainbow outfit stat, please.

‘Play’ comes hot on the heels of the release of Years & Years’ single ‘All for You’, the third track to be lifted from the electro-pop group’s second studio album Palo Santo, a concept record tackling themes of faith, sexuality and desire.

Meanwhile, Jones will be looking for a fifth UK Top 20 single in less than two years after the sucess of ‘You Don’t Know Me’ feat. Raye, ‘Instruction’ feat. Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don, ‘Breathe’ feat. Ina Wroldsen and ‘Ring Ring’ feat. Mabel and Rich the Kid.
